With Superman Returns looming, I’m reminded of this lovely Five for Fighting song. I think it strucks a chord with a lot of people because sometimes we do feel its not easy being us.
So after digging it out and hearing it, I was inspired to pen a personalised version of the song :
Last night’s conversation seemed to have brought me dreaming about her again. The details of the dream are sketchy right now as I was woken up by a wrong number … the only thing that I remember from the dream is how we were going through a test to measure the intensity of our feelings for each other. I think the phone woke me up before the results were out (not that the results were ever in doubt 
)

So many casting calls all of a sudden?!
Where were you months ago?!!
Do you not know this is the busiest time of the year for me?!

Yesterday, I got a “casting call” of another kind which made me realised that the price of chasing my dreams might have just become higher. In fact, much, much higher.
A head-hunting firm called me up, invited me to apply for a high paying position. The headhunter added that she got my contact because I was highly recommended by “someone” but she refused to divulge the identity.
So how high was the pay offered? Lets just say that its high enough to afford me a car and a small apartment. If I’m offered, its really a no-brainer not to turn it down. Yet as I thought of discarding my dreams, I had to fight hard to hold back the tears swelling in my eyes.
Aye, letting go of my heart’s desire is never ever easy.
I didn’t consider myself to be the main lead on the episode last night (in fact, I’d figured Jimmy should be the main lead), so I was pleasently surprised when I came up top billing.
In a weekend of not so pleasent surprises, its a little gratifying to finally get a small pleasent one at the end.
In other news, I seem to be getting lots of casting calls again. Its always amazing to me how just one of such call would almost instantly raise my spirits, even though I have not even clinched the role yet! 
Update : The one I was holding out for didn’t panned out, I got rejected even without an audition. Two more on Friday, we’ll see how it goes.
