Without Warning – Aftermath

Posted by Ruok On November - 29 - 2006

The feedback I’ve been getting for my performance has been generally very good, and I’m really glad I didn’t suck after pestering so many people to watch. :P

As you all know, this role was my most challenging by far; its my first crying scene and I had really hoped that I won’t end up a crying shame. So I was really happy and relieved when people tell me that they were moved and were close to tears. I guess if I were any better at it, I would have made them cry. (Bah, I’ll get them the next time ;) )

I’m also happy some people had felt this was my best performance to date, even better than my *koff* pour boiling water over some woman’s face *koff koff* role. Hopefully, the powers that be thinks so too, and I can finally shed my bad guy stereotype.

For my overseas friends, here’s an excerpt from the show :

Do note that the full two episodes are available for viewing via mobtv. Look for episode 5 and 6.

Thou, Thee, Thy & Art Thou

Went for my very first Shakespeare audition over the weekend, and boy was I nervous. I think its also because its been a long time since I last did a stage audition and the unfamiliarity of it all just made me felt like it was my very first audition all over again.

Its a strange thing; returning to the stage. Like a forgotten lover her embrace is cold, her touch bereft of the warmth I’d leave her. I can almost feel her delight at my stumbling; almost feel her contempt coarse through my ambling limbs. Tis strange this manner she entreats on me, her former love; strange for she be the first to spurn and not I. Her touch and embrace I doth yearn thus, but jealousy I fear doth cloud the vision of my mistress.

I guess that’s what doing Shakespeare does to you, I’ve been breaking out into such prose all week last week. :P Anyway, for those who are curious, my audition piece was a soliloquy by Benedict, Act II Scene 3, from “Much Ado About Nothing”. Unfortunately, it was a bit too long for the audition (silly me failed to notice that they asked for a 1 minute monologue) but they let me finish the first one anyway. Phew. Its a pity I couldn’t do the second part though, but thats just the actor me lamenting a lost chance to do more Shakespeare.

I really enjoyed preparing and doing the piece, and the reason, I half suspect is that I can really identify with Benedict’s character. I particularly loved this line :

“But till all grace be in one woman,
One woman shall not come in my grace.”

Hehehe. Oh Beatrice, Beatrice whereforth thou art my Beatrice?

See Stars Part Umpteenth

Just got this text msg :

“Saw u last night as printer. Not as natural as Dr Teo. U turned 2walk away, think u tried 2 avoid table. Turn was awkward. Nice shirt though.”

Apparently, I was on TV last night, and apparently, the PA has spotted me again.

*Sigh*

On another note, its nice to know I’m a Star. :D

You are The Star

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised

The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you’re a dreamer, but you’re not the only one.

Without Warning II

Last Friday, I got a sms that read “Saw u last nite! Kissing ur wife! Dr Teo, Ha”.

The number was not in my phone book, so I proceeded to reply, “Thanks for tuning in! BTW who’s this?”

I did not get a reply but I got another sms from a friend informing me that the CFO’s personal assistant had recognised me from the previous night’s episode. Which means my unknown messager was most likely to be her.

A few months back I had went for an job interview with this CFO and she, the PA, was there as well. According to my friend, the position has yet to be filled, but this little episode might have just blew whatever slim chances I had… sigh.

I knew this day would come, but I’d never expected it to come… without… warning… >.<

Anyway, do catch this week's episode of Without Warning. All my key scenes are in this one, and this is prolly the first time you'll hear me sing (and cry) on national television.

Date : 23 November, Thursday.
Time : 9pm
Channel : 5
