After That

zorro

Was in two minds about blogging the whole halloween affair, but since it is after all my virgin halloween party, I guess I should mention something about it right?

This year has really been a year of a lot of "firsts" for me. I already know what I should blog about when it comes to the end of the year. I should just list down all my first times :P

I think I don't wanna go into details of the stuff that happened during the party as many have blogged about it before. And I bet you are all tired of reading about the party anyways, hehehe.

So, like I was saying ...

Its been a long long time since I have had danced to a high. That night, the stage seems set; the dance floor was spacious, there were plenty of hawt babes and plenty of poison to help you shred your very last inhibitions.

I think I came this close to dancing to a high again, if not for the music, which really, really didn't do it for me. To the four ladies who graciously obliged to dance with me, thank you. You were all damn murder on my 'dance floor' ;)

Oh and in case some of you are wondering, this was my costume :

See Star Part *sigh* ok, I giving up counting liow

Went shopping for the last bits of my costume for the coming Halloween party ( if you haven't got your tickets, go get them through here!) this evening. I was scouring high and low and have almost given up hope when I spied a shop that might just have what I was looking for.

The sales girl asked me to wait while she hunted high and low (thereby giving me a wonderful view of her very pert ass) and when she couldn't find it, went to engage her boss in the search. After about 10 minutes, the boss managed to find the headress I was looking for.

"So are you an actor?" he asked as he passed the stuff over to the sales girl with the cute ass to record the sale. Noting my usual incredulous look as I nodded, he added, "You were in Full Circle right? My daughter recognised you and asked me to check if its really you."

A little girl popped up from behind him and looked at me shyly.

"Thank you for watching," I said, as I beamed at her before she shyly scurried off and hide. Gee, I hope I didn't scare her off by looking kinda worrying again...

I couldn't find my remaining piece in the shop, so I went hunting around again. A similar looking shop was at the other end of the long mall corridor and encouraged by my recent find, I went in to have a look.

Turns out they do have what I wanted, but, eh, they had to search high and low as well (how come the things I want so hard to find one?). This time round, it took about 15 minutes before the lady boss returned with the merchandise.

"Were you in Full Circle? My daughter said she saw you before," she asked as she passed me my purchase. The same little girl scurried past her to sit at the cashier counter and smiled shyly at me. Whadayya know, the two shops are owned by the same family! We chatted a little bit on my *koff koff* acting and the protagonist's story before I gave the little girl a warm goodbye smile.

Seems like ( hopefully) I'm beginning to look less worrying liow. :P On another note, it's probably the first time I got recognised by total strangers twice in the same week. Luckily this time round I didn't get any " preferential" treatment. :P

Oh and in case you are wondering, this is part of what I'm gonna wear to the party :

New Home

I have just switched host to poznet, and by golly, it does seem faster than my previous host! But maybe its just me, so don't just take my word for it! Go test it out by viewing all my videos and showreel! And do let me know if you feel otherwise and/or experiencing problems with viewing it. If you are shy, you can always discreetly email me at vinceli.com. ;)

Speaking of videos, I have just finished my virgin attempt at film-making! You can view it here. They originally wanted 2 minutes, but I end up managing about 3 and a half minutes... Which means hor, if I was to make a 2 hour movie, I will probably end up making it to be 3 and a half hours long...

Quentin will be so proud. :P

See Star Part Dunno Wat (lost count liow)

When it was my turn to order, the waitress turned to me and asked,

"Excuse me, you look familiar. Are you with Mediacorp?"

Noting the stunned look I was sprouting, she added, "You were in Full Circle right?"

I gave her a smile as big as I could muster in my embarrassed state and said yes, after which she nonchalantly (it seems) took down my order.

I could only grin sheepishly at my friend who was having dinner with me.

Fwah if like that can get recognised by total stranger, then I seriously think I really have to get a disguise when my God-knows-when-it-will-be-aired advert airs...

And, while we both ordered the same cut of steak, mine came much later than my friend's. Just as we were wondering what could be taking it so long, I was served.

Thats when we found out why mine took so much longer to prepare.

Coz it was a whole lot thicker lor.

Bye Bye Social Life

After a long drought, the PC gaming scene looks like its gonna add more bags to my eyes again.

First up, we have Football Manager 2006, releasing this Friday.

Then you have Age of Empires 3 releasing next Tuesday.

In the horizon, looms the ultimate addiction called Civilisation 4.

And just when you thought the worst is over, you realised that The Movies has gone gold, which means it should be out around the same time as all these other games. Oh my gawd.

And to top it all off, I'm still trying to finish off the games (3) I'm currently playing.

God give me strength...

Baby Steps

If one day, I don't get to act anymore, I would want to be a director. I hope I can be like Robert Redford, Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood. I would want to live my passion as long as I can.

So last weekend, I readily accept a friend's request to help him shoot a two minute video for the Handicapped Welfare Association in order to help raise funds to build a basketball court in their own backyard.

I tried to apply what I have learnt to practice, but in the end, I think I ended up looking like a mad man running amok after a group of peeps in wheel chairs. And although my t-shirt was soaked after the shoot, I only felt the full extent of my physical exertions two days later, when my thigh muscles start aching.

Hopefully, I did a good job...

That aside, it seems that nowadays I keep getting involved in fund raising activities.

I'm also involved in this one, and would you believe it, they made me treasurer for the event. Not the master of ceremonies. But treasurer!

Aku struggling actor lor, wait I run off with the money then you all know. :P

Men Who Say "Nee" Nay

We still meet up from time to time to catch up and b0nd. Invariably, our conversations will always lead to questions like "So how long are you going to do this?" and "What are your plans if things don't work out?". I know they mean well, but sometimes I wonder if their line of questioning belies their hope that my answers will somehow liberate them from their own chains, chains which they knowingly coil around themselves year after year.

I wish I can be your liberator too.

While I can handle these kind of questions, the one thing that always irks me is that when I express my belief that S'pore will one day make films that will capture the hearts of a global audience, these friends of mine will start saying nay.

Why do you guys always think that we don't have what it takes? I mean, its not only in this aspect that they are naying, but on other fronts as well. They will just shoot any conceivable notion down, blaming it on the size of the population (no critical mass, no home market) and the gahmen et cetra et cetra.

Have we not come a long way from 40 years ago? Do we need to wait another 40 years for us to start believing in ourselves? I don't know about you, but I don't think we could have made it this far without the older generation believing in themselves.

So how did so many of us come to lose this self-belief along the years? That answer is perhaps not so important. Not as important as for us to start believing in ourselves. Again.

To these naysayers, I say nee to you .

(Wanted to write this entry as a National Day tribute but got distracted and was reminded of it only when I met up with my peers recently. )

In case u r wondering, "men who say nee" are characters from Monty Python» |

Peelings, Nothing More But Peelings

villa
The Love Shag Shack

For a while I was worried, for there were signs that it was gonna be as bad as before. Then again, I wasn't too convinced that it was really that bad as I could still recall distinctively the physical pain and discomfort I felt from the last time. This time round only the physical signs were there, the pain and discomfort was much more bearable.

Still, I decided to take no chances and took as many further precautions as possible.

In the end, after 10 days, I started peeling. Which isn't too bad, I guess, as it means the damage, if any, has been well contained. If there's anything I'd learnt from all this is that dark tanning oil is very, very deceptive. The effect is like super delayed one lor! You can look like a 白斩鸡(steamed white chicken) for hours under the sun only to find a few hours later indoors that you are slowly turning into a chao tah (burnt) lobster.

Note to self : Cannot spend more than 1 hour in the hawt sunlight with deceptive dark tanning oil.

While I was on the island, I also had my first evar massage :

massage
Innocent looking place but danger lurks within...

We were told to strip to our underwear and then lie on the bed. I probably should have realised that something was amiss when she started to pull down the towel that was covering my back to below my butt.

Before I knew it, my boxers were pulled to below my butt as well, before she begun working on my back. It was a strange feeling lying there, butt naked, with the occassional draft of the wind blowing across your butt cheeks.

When her hands touched my butt for the first time, I was shocked. Holy Cow! She's gonna massage my butt?!!

And she was at it for quite a long time too, which was probably my fault. Coz everytime I feel her hands on a different area of the butt I would involuntarily clench; I think she must be wondering what I was so anal about to have my butt tensed up for such a long time. In my defense, I can only say that it was the first time my butt got handled in such a manner.

And that was probably the reason why I wore this expression after the massage for quite a while :
