My Reelity

Over the weekend, I went to one of the best wedding dinners I’ve ever attended.

It was the best because not only was our table only half full, the food was the best I’ve ever tasted as well.

And I had a personal record-breaking third bowl of sharksfin, Tung Lok one somemore. Sibeh shiok ah!

In fact all of us had so much food such that when the steamed fish came, we end up only finishing half the fish. The chicken that followed fared no better; I think only a quarter of it was consumed. By then, our server was already shaking her head and thinking how many curses we must have been bestowed upon the gods that frowned upon wastage of food.

If you ask me, I don’t think we are cursed lah, those who didn’t turn up are to blame what. 😛

Anyhoo, you can read another account of it by a friend who recently got into blogging. Gurms is a witty and funny guy in person, and whose language skills outshines all of us at the table. So do head on there, and tell him Ruok sent ya.

Towards the end of dinner, a mutual friend of theirs pop over and after a bit of small talk and pleasentries, requested for my name card. When I told him I didn’t bring any, he appeared a bit miffed so I offered, “Its really very easy to contact me these days. Just google “Vincent Lee” lor, my website is numero uno,” while smiling sheepishly at the groans groaning around me.

His response was, “This guy is proud and shameless. I like.”

Hmm, I think this is the first time I’ve been told straight to the face that I’m proud and shameless.

And you know what, I think that’s how I’ve been able to handle my 99% rejection rate (reel and real life :P) thus far.
