My ego, that is.
I wrote the previous post as a metaphor of what I felt like I’ve been going through for quite a while now. Usually, I am kinda used to the disappointment I feel when I get rejected for the parts I want, but the dearth of decent roles available and the long hiatus from acting is taking its toll on me. So last week’s failed outcome at the auditions really made me feel like the “boxer”.
If I have gotten the roles, I will be looking at a 10 day back-to-back filming schedule. But because the audition for the role I really wanted was on the night before shooting commence for a supporting role that I clinched, I decided to give it up in hope of clinching this role.
In the end, I did not get it. Which was a big disappointment for me as I was really looking forward to working with the crew whom I had worked with in a short film one year ago. And yeah, it doesn’t help that the additional income will sorely be missed as well.
*Sigh* I hope I can still be involved in something meaningful before the year ends.
Look at the bright side, it could be a blessing in disguise. Have faith and belief in yourself.. =)
