Because the rest of my life is just wheezing by (i.e. boring) and because I crave for a little excitement in my life, I’ve decided to push my baby to the max.
Actually, I think it is my hands too itchy. 😛
In my need for speed, I think I pushed the poor baby too hard, and she whimpered and refused to come to life when I appeared to have pushed her too far. At that moment, I was shell-shocked, thinking that I may have killed one of the hard disks. I forced myself to be calm and opened her up to examine her more closely.
The disk was not warm to my touch, which was a good sign as it meant that it wasn’t shorted out and in all likelihood should still be functionable. I recalled how I fixed a similar problem that occured when I was first assembling her and to my great relief, she purred back to life again.
So my baby is now running coolly at almost 2.5Ghz (from an initial 1.8Ghz, which means she’s faster than an Athlon 3800+) and the memory is at DDR450 (from DDR400). I think this is the max it can get, unless I go get better rams.
Sad to say, even with a faster speed, the rest of my life still wheezes by slowly. Looks like my need is not speed after all …
10 years down…probably wish time had passed slower.
