My friend Ceru just told me about his fren’s harrowing experience with Vista.
The dude just built a new comp and bought an OEM Vista Business, only to find the damn thang don’t work on his new comp. The reason, after a long talk with Microsoft, was that the Vista they bought was 32 bit and 32 bit Vistas don’t support 4GB ram.
These days, with rams so dirt cheap, its really a no brainer not to build a comp with 4GB ram. And yet, the common and usual 32 bit Vistas don’t support them. The best part was when the Microsoft rep told them that they can get an upgrade to a 64 bit license for just $15 more, but they can only give it to them if they had the RETAIL version and not OEM.
Which, basically means, ladies and gentlemen, they got pwned by Microsoft real bad (yeah they didn’t even offered to help them trade in their existing copy).
So remember boys and girls, to get 64 bit Vistas if you have 4GB ram.
Or just buy a Mac. And play with your Wii Wii.
