Over the past week I was introduced to the Suzuki Method and Viewpoints, an acting training that is taught and used extensively by the SITI company. Prior to signing up for the workshop, I had no idea what all these were about.
My main motivation for joining the workshop was to feed my starving soul and frankly if you had asked me to join any other acting workshop at that time, I’ll most probably have just signed up immediately, that was how desperate I was. 😛
Although I did know that this method is really meant for stage actors, I was still surprised to find that I’m the only “film/video” actor in my group. And my group participants were also surprised to find a non theatre actor in their midst, so much so that some of them even asked me why and what I’m doing here. 😛
Then, to top it off, we had to do this self-intro thingy to break the ice, and we had to mention the last project or the next project we did. So far everyone else’s project was a theatrical one, and so when it came to my turn, and since my next project is zilch nada, I said my last one, which was the coming movie “Exposed”.
I think I kinda startled everyone there and then. Heh.
Continuing…soon 😛
